Itinerary:

Luxor

Welcome aboard your dahabiya. Dinner and overnight stay on board

Luxor – Esna – El Hegz

Breakfast and the start of the cruise toward Esna. Upon arrival, visit the Temple of Esna, dedicated to Khnum and Neith. Construction of the temple began under Ptolemy VIII and was completed during the Roman period, under Emperor Claudius and later Marcus Aurelius. The temple, still partially buried, lies about 10 meters below the current level of the city.

Return to the boat for lunch and continue sailing to El Hegz Island, where the boat will dock for the night.

Dinner and overnight stay on board.

El Hegz – Edfou - Bisaw

Breakfast, then sailing to Edfu. Upon arrival, excursion by carriage to the Temple of Horus, located further inland. This sanctuary dedicated to the falcon god Horus is both the largest temple of the Ptolemaic dynasty and the second largest in Egypt after Karnak. Inside, the intact paintings, inscriptions, and reliefs make it the best-preserved temple in Egypt. After the visit, return to the boat for lunch and continuation of the cruise to the island of Bisaw, where the boat will dock for the night. Free walk around the island and dinner on the shore. Overnight on board.

Gebel Silsileh – Kom Ombo - Aswan

After breakfast, set out to explore Gebel Silsileh, both an archaeological site and Egypt’s most important sandstone quarry. Under the protection of the Nile god Hapy, this quarry provided the stone used in nearly all the temples of Upper Egypt.

On the west bank of the river, you'll find a rock-cut sanctuary dedicated to the god Horemheb and seven other deities, including the local crocodile god Sobek.

Return to the boat for lunch, followed by a guided walk through the ancient quarry.

The journey then continues toward Kom Ombo.

Perched on a hill, the Temple of Kom Ombo is unique in Egypt for its perfectly symmetrical layout, dedicated to two gods: Sobek, the crocodile god of the south, and Horus, the falcon god of the north. The temple complex, built by three Ptolemaic rulers, is surrounded by an enclosure wall richly adorned with carvings and reliefs.

After the visit, return to the dahabiya and continue sailing upriver toward Aswan.

Dinner and overnight stay on board.

Aswan

Breakfast on board, followed by a visit to the Temple of Philae, located on Agilkia Island—one of the most beautiful sanctuaries in Egypt. Begun by Pharaoh Nectanebo I during the 30th Dynasty and completed by the Romans, it is the main temple dedicated to the goddess Isis.

After visiting Philae, the tour continues with the High Dam and the Unfinished Obelisk.

The Aswan region is rich in schist, alabaster, and pink granite, materials found only in this part of Egypt. These stones were used to build the pyramids, statues, and colossal monuments of the pharaohs. In the granite quarry, you’ll see the largest known ancient obelisk (41.75 meters), whose construction was abandoned after a crack was discovered in the rock.

Return to the boat for lunch.

In the evening, an optional sound and light show at the Temple of Philae is available.

Dinner and overnight stay on board.

Aswan - Esna

Breakfast on board, followed by a free morning to explore the city at your own pace.

Optional excursions by car or plane are available to visit the temples of Abu Simbel, built by Ramses II—one of Egypt’s most iconic monuments.

Return to Aswan for lunch, then begin the journey back toward Esna, arriving during the night.

Dinner and overnight stay on board.

Esna - Luxor

After breakfast, depart by car to visit the necropolis of Thebes on the West Bank of the Nile. The morning begins with the Valley of the Kings and the Valley of the Queens, home to the tombs of many New Kingdom pharaohs, their families, and favored nobles.

Continue on to the Colossi of Memnon, the last remnants of the temple of Amenhotep III, and then to Deir el-Bahari, the mortuary temple of Queen Hatshepsut. Carved directly into the cliffs of the Theban mountains, this impressive three-tiered temple, built around 1455 BCE, is both architecturally harmonious and strikingly modern. Although dedicated to the god Amun, it also houses chapels for Anubis and Hathor, the protective goddess of women.

Return to the dahabiya for lunch.

In the afternoon, explore the East Bank of ancient Thebes with visits to the Temples of Karnak and Luxor, connected by a dromos—a long avenue lined with sphinxes. Both temples are dedicated to the god Amun.

In the evening, an optional sound and light show at Karnak Temple is available.
